Filipinos Should Know: 7 Exciting Places and Events That Will Soon to Open

The lifestyle scene is always evolving.  It seems like every day has something new to offer within the consumer's radar. New trends catch up just as old ones are fading away. In this vicious cycle, there is something new to watch out for in the horizon. Some establish after years of planning and hard work, while others go viral in what seems like an instant. What remains clear is that with so much adventurous young blood, trend-setters, party poppers and food entrepeneurs, the lifestyle arena is in no danger of dying out. Thanks to the internet as it made us pick out 7 exciting places soon to rise. We think the establishments in this group have what it takes to break through the noise, and maybe even make it big in the process. While we are not certain if most of them will end up becoming huge, we do think there is a place for them somewhere in industry's ever evolving stratosphere.

Be ready and do not get too excited. Here are the 7 Places to Watch Out For.

H & M (Hennes & Mauritz AB), a Swedish giant clothing brand is currently bursting every Filipino shopper's heart out as it makes its flagship store open in Manila at the third quarter of 2014 (probably August). Their whopping 3-storey retail space, occupying more than 3,000 square-meters at the Megamall Fashion Hall, will carry a diverse collection for men, women, kids and teens, as well as their premium Studio collection for some interesting investment pieces. What's more exciting is the arrival of collection of Alexander Wang, the creative director of Balenciaga, as it collaborates with H&M come November 6. They are finally coming for us.

While most of us are not yet over with our fascination about ramen, another exciting ramen place will sweep the noodle craze in the metro. Ippudo Ramen will break its long-rumored opening as it finally makes its presence felt in Manila this year at the third floor of Megamall Fashion Hall. Founded in 1985 in Japan's ramen capital, Hakama, by an internationally renowned Ramen King, Shigemi Kawahara, it stormed the food industry in Japan with 65 branches, as well as internationally such as in New York, Sydney, Hongkong, Singapore, Shanghai, Taiwan and South Korea. Ippudo, literally means "one wind hall", will be blowing its way here by the same group behind Yabu. Ippudo is known for their Hakata noodles and Kyushu ramen with their unique innovation and twist that makes it distinct in the realm of traditional cooking and dining. Ippudo, made by the Ramen King from Japan's Ramen Capital -- sounds legit to me.

Gourmet burgers stores are spreading like wild fire and this Hawaiian-based burger joint is setting their foot in the Philippines. Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, which started in 1998 in Honolulu and eventually made its way in the US mainland, is expected to open its first outlet in the Philippines in August at Greenbelt 3 in Makati. The Hawaiian 1950's-themed burger joint, whose all-time favorites include ground chuck flame-broiled burgers and good old-fashioned shakes with ice creams, will be brought here by High Jap Group, making this store as their first international franchise. Other classic items in their menu include turkey, pastrami salads and sandwiches, veggie burgers are all receiving rave reviews. I'll stop here first. I'd better experience this shop and come back for a review.

KidZania, one of the fastest growing global edutainment brands in the world, is coming to Manila at Bonifacio Global City. This is the first-of-its-kind indoor hyper-real play city where children can independently do 100 role-playing activities like in a real community with grown up roles (e.g. policeman, doctor, fireman), explore their neighborhood, enhance their social, creative skills and their gifts. This empowers the kids as they take over and rule this community. Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas, president and CEO of Play Innovations, will customize the activities for the kids, incorporating the agricultural sectors of the community and some community scenarios such as what to do during calamities. This establishment will also incorporate real-world brands to bring the real feel of community. Children ages 4-14 are welcome, and the proposed opening will be some time in 2015.

City of Dreams will definitely mark the start of something new when it opens to public soon. It will bring a breath of new era of amusement and entertainment in the Philippines as it houses luxury hotels, casino complex, nightclubs, upscale shopping stores, theaters and entertainment venues. The Macau-based developer, Melco Crown Entertainment Entertainment Ltd., will be banking an investment of 1.2 billion USD as they plan to start its operation at the fourth quarter of this year. It will open at the Manila Bay's reclamation area, with gaming complex of 365 gaming tables, 1680 slot machines and electronic gaming tables. It will also open the first-of-its-kind education-based interactive entertainment in collaboration with the creative and artistic powers of DreamWorks Animation, "DreamPlay by DreamWorks". 1. This is an excellent venue with really large area filled with fun atmosphere. I came for a business event at San Francisco restaurants yet it still feels like an intimate space to be.
